I built this buggy in 1974 using a 1972 shortened bug chassis. The
body style is the El Lobo.
The reason for having a two year old bug to convert to a buggy was
because the
previous owner had an oversized battery and the springs of the seat
created a short and a fire.
The drivetrain is still factory original except for the left
CV joints
and axel, and the valves have been reworked in the engine in 1974.
This has been my favorite car and still is.
Charlie, my dog, enjoys riding in the buggy and when outside
he will jump into the buggy and wait there so he won't miss out on
a ride.
